The annual PTO sponsored fall carnival was a success again this year with lots of families outside enjoying the gorgeous weather, great food and fun games.

Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week at Dale R. Fair Babson Park Elementary was held Oct. 31-Nov. 4. Each day featured a theme to remind students to be drug free. Students wore their favorite sports team shirt reminding them to “Stay in the Game-Stick to your Goals and be Drug Free.” One day featured crazy hair or wigs for “HAIR’s to a drug free life-don’t be a sucker for drugs!” A popular theme was Thursday where both students and staff wore slippers and were reminded that “drugs can really twist your mind-using them can slip you up!” Friday was wear red day. The Gnat Chorus and Pride Team presented a program titled “It’s Up to Me to be Drug Free.”

Winners of the classroom door decorating contest and student poster contest were announced during the Friday afternoon program. The theme was “Stay in the Game-Stick to your Goals and be Drug Free.” Ms. Wilson’s 1st grade class won the door decoration for Kindergarten-1st-2nd grades and Mrs. May’s 5th grade class won the contest for 3rd-4th-5th grades.
Student winners of the poster contest were: Kindergarten-1st-2nd grades: 3rd place Nathan Jenkins, 2nd place Marissa Hancock and 1st place Raeleigh Smith. 3rd-4th-5th grades poster contest winners were: 3rd place Sarah Deary, 2nd place Lauralee Turner and 1st place Lauren Pooley.
